Rayenari's life shifts when poet Antonin Artaud seeks Tarahumara spiritual wisdom, but loses his soul after abandoning the Jíkuri ritual. Later Rayenari finds Artaud in an asylum through dreams and aids his soul's recovery.
Federico Cecchetti is originally from Mexico City. He graduated from the University Center for Cinematographic Studies (CUEC) at UNAM. He also studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, Italy. To date, he has directed eight short films, including El maléfico Dr. Machete (2005), Raíces (2007), and Transhumantes (2009), for which he received an Ariel Award nomination in the category of Best Fiction Short Film. His first feature film is the aforementioned El sueño de Mara’akame, which won the Eye Award for Best First or Second Mexican Feature Film at the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
