Pierre, a widowed 50 year old man, raises his two sons alone. The three of them are very close. Louis, the younger son, is about to leave home to go to university in Paris. On the other hand, Fus, the elder one, has become withdrawn, and is slowly evincing an interest in far-right extremist activities, going against everything his father believes in. Set in France’s Grand Est region, where decades of rising unemployment have opened the doors to a wave of far-right radicalism, The Quiet Son is as revealing of our contemporary world as it is of the one to come.
