Mahnaz, a 40-year-old widowed nurse, struggles with her rebellious son, Aliyar, who has been suspended from school. Family tensions reach a peak during the betrothal ceremony with her new boyfriend Hamid, and a tragic accident occurs. In the aftermath, Mahnaz will be forced to confront betrayal and loss, and to embark on a quest for justice.
Saeed Roustaee is an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. He graduated from Soore University, Iran with a Bachelor of Film and Television in Directing. His works primarily focus on issues of social injustice, as well as his portrayals of women in Iranian society. His second feature, Just 6.5 (2019), was nominated for the César Award for Best Foreign Film. His third and fourth films, Leila's Brothers (2022) and Woman and Child (2025), were selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and 2025, respectively.
