Synopsis :

The film traces the life of Sen over decades, across borders, only to capture the heart and spirit of the person that Mrinal Sen was. From discovering his political ideologies to using his films to propagate the same, Padatik also delves into the lover and the husband; the father and the friend that he was, albeit flawed. A line that his son says in the film, loosely translating to “the path from good to great is that of utter selfishness" sums up the price the lover and the husband and the father payed for the ace filmmaker. The film is a celebration of the man and the journey that arcs from the lowest of depths to the highest of heights and adds a dash of human touch while it focuses its lens at the convergence of the political, personal and professional that defined Mrinal Sen. This year marks the centenary year of Sen and Padatik is a tribute to and celebration of the Maestro.
