IFFI 2018 Introduces Sports Biopics Section In Line With Khelo India

From the nail-biting penalty shootout in ‘Chak De! India’, to that unimaginable six during ‘MS Dhoni: The untold story’, our hearts fluttered with a sense of pride for the sportsmen that made the entire country proud. As a part of the Khelo India initiative, Indian and International Sports Biopics will be screened at an open-air venue at IFFI 2018.

With the release of a magnitude of sport related films in the recent years, the audience loves a good film that brings all the thrill, hard work, dedication and sportiness to the big screen. At IFFI 2018, there will be screenings of films from Vernacular Film Industries as well as the International ones.

The Khelo India programme has been introduced in 2018 to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation. This initiative was started with an aim to spark the fire of sports and fitness in the minds of the citizens of India. A fit and healthy individual leads to a strong society and a stronger nation. The time is right for young athletes to prosper and train towards the goal of becoming the best in the world. Keeping this in mind, a new film section has been added to Programme list of IFFI 2018.

The 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India will be held from the 20th to the 28th of November 2018 at Panjim, Goa. This year will be the 49th year of existence of the film festival and it will feature some of the biggest names in the film industry. The festival is open to everyone.
