The Award for the Most Promising Asian Director consisting of a Silver Peacock and a cash prize of Rs. 250,000/- goes to the Israeli Director Ra’anan Alexandrowicz for his film JAMES JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM (MASSA’OT JAMES BE’ERETZ HAKODESH) for his paradoxical vision of basic values lost in a consumerist society.
The Special Jury Award consisting of a Silver Peacock and a cash prize of Rs.250,000/- goes to the Indian film IN COURSE OF TIME (PROHOR) by Subhadro Chowdhury for its deeply ethical message of forgiveness, realistically rooted in contemporary society.
