The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) & M/S Canterbury, in association with Cherylyne Pret Couture and Vladimir Furtado, are organizing Goa’s first Government backed, fashion design trade event, at the the IFFI Goa Fashion Weekend.
The aim of this event is to give a boost to over 2,000 fashion designers from Goa, by introducing them to the costume contractors of the Indian Film industry.
While a large majority of the film fraternity purchases films outfits from abroad and other local Indian sources such as Tirupur, this event attempts at giving fashion and accessory entrepreneurs from Goa an opportunity to gain contacts with the film fraternity. The Indian film industry spends over Rs. 800 crores on garments annually! This platform aims at giving Goan designers a chance to tap into this massive market.
The event will be held at the open air auditorium of Kala Academy, on the 26th and 27th November 2016, between 4 pm to 10 pm. The entry to the event is free, from gate 4 of the academy, which is located towards the children’s park.
The event will feature fashion shows by leading Goan designers and an exhibition of high fashion clothing and accessories, at the Kala Academy terrace.
The event schedule is as follows:
26th November: The event will start with the kids fashion show by Sunshine School. Up next, the Honorable Goan Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar and Prasana Kumar from SBI will inaugurate the event at 07:40 pm.
This will be followed by a fashion show by National Costume Award winning designer, Ninoshka Alvares Dellaney. The day will end with a colorful, film inspired fashion showcase at 08.30 pm by Mrs. Manisha Salkar.
27th November: Andrew from Dziners will showcase western formals through his fashion show and the grand finale will be held by Goan fashionista, Cherylyne Estibeiro at 08:45 pm.
