The buzz has begun, as the red carpet unfurls and Goa’s ’one-window’ film hub - the Entertainment Society of Goa gets set to roll out IFFI 2008. A combination of new technology, new infrastructure and new movies promise to dish out a treat for film buffs the world over. The launching of Goa Cinephile will offer a bouquet of cinema and information to its elite club members. Another first is the Short Film Center, that is already seeing responses from all over the globe. Workshops, Film Bazaar, Asian/African/Latin American Competitions, Cinema of the World, Foreign Retros, Country Focus, Indian Panorama with 25 features and mainstream cinema, Navya Movement and Kanada Cinema, amongst others are all set to roll on a platter blended with vibrant Goan hospitality, truly a feast of movies and entertainment. The 39th International Film Festival of India, Goa 2008 is reeled, rolled and ready to celebrate cinema in a world class ambience, pushing closer to its aim of attaining the status - “Cannes of the East", in the true tradition of `Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The Whole World is One Family) adopted as the motto of the festival since 1975.
